How do you get inspired to write?
Miriam C. Davis For me, writing isn't about inspiration. It's about a long, hard slog in front of the computer. That said, I occasionally get good ideas in the shower.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Miriam C. Davis My brother told me about the serial killer in New Orleans active in the early 20th century. But he thought the killer targeted Jewish bakers; I found that the victims were Italian grocers.
