W.C. Clinton My parents have often said it is rather a mystery how I turned out the way I did. "We're not quite sure where you came from," my mother once wryly remarked.
W.C. Clinton No, I'm not using a pen name - not even to be humorous.

W.C. Clinton I can read your question two ways, and I will answer both.

The first way is to read your question as stating that this functionality of Goodreads only works for asking questions of the author. That is true - this particular functionality is set up for readers to pose questions to an author, and is not equivalent to Facebook messaging, for example. Another feature on Goodreads is recommending books to specific friends, which I have done on occasion.

The second way is to read your question as stating this (two pairs of shorts) is the only work for which I am accepting questions (referring to my message for readers on my author page). Right now, I've only got one work out there, and since I am currently running a giveaway for it, I customized my message to put more focus on the book.
W.C. Clinton I write to amuse myself. I love to play with words, with different points of view for the narrative, different genres. The best thing, though, is when what I write entertains someone else, as well. I spent a good bit of time writing comedy with a sketch troupe called Oral Free Delivery in the late eighties, and the pay-off in laughter when the sketches were performed is one of the highlights of my writing career so far.
W.C. Clinton Currently, I am writing a crime story, tentatively titled "Dead Certain." It is a first-person narrative from the point of view of a Philadelphia cop who is on a bereavement leave when his partner is murdered. The subject matter is quite different from what you would find in "two pairs of shorts."
W.C. Clinton I wrote the four stories in "two pairs of shorts" over a long period of time. I wrote the first draft of the oldest story in the collection, "Wintergreen," in the late nineteen-eighties; I wrote the first draft of the newest story, "Make Lemonade," in the mid-2000's. The ideas for the stories came from different sources. For example, I was heading a totally different direction from where I wound up going with "Wintergreen" - that story was very organic; whereas "Make Lemonade" was a response to a prompt from a co-worker. "Operation Eagle Eye" grew from my memories of the overall tone of a preliminary Neighborhood Watch meeting in my subdivision when I lived outside of Atlanta; I started writing it within a year of the second U.S. invasion of Iraq. "Respectfully Submitted" grew from an exaggeration of personalities and common points of tension in Unitarian-Universalist congregations (although a number of people who have read the story say that they've been at that meeting in different organizations).
