B.A. Goodjohn I'm not sure it exists...for me, at least. Most writing is just a case of sitting down and doing it...whether I want to or not. If I write crap today, I can be pretty sure that when I read it tomorrow or next week, there will be a jumping off point there somewhere.

I do believe that we hit fallow times. But those times are not necessarily a bad thing. In the same way that setting a field fallow improves the soil and makes it possible for future crops to do well, experiencing a creative "fallowness" can achieve the same thing. I can't remember who said this (please, someone remind me)L "How can we sit down to write when we have not stood up to live." If you're wedded to the phrase "Writer's Block" then think of it as an opportunity to "stand up and live."
