Sorry to say, it's still going to be a while, Flora - various problems have delayed progress. But thanks for asking!

Hi Flora
Due to circumstances beyond my control, Shadows 3 is barely started as yet. Consequently, I'd rather not give too much away just yet. Sorry.

It's unlikely that I'll bring Donato back, Flora - but I never say never! And at present, I'm busy with Daniel Shelbourne - now Viscount Reculver.
Stella Riley
Unlikely, Steph but I won't say never. Whilst working towards the released audiobook of Lords of Misrule, I was reminded how much I like Toby Maxwell.

thanks for your answer! I really enjoyed all of the series, but I must say it was really nice for Lords of Misrule to come back to focus on the Maxwell family. The entire family dynamic of the Maxwells in The Black Madonna is the best and my favorite family dynamic I've read in literature. I loolk forward to anything you do plan on writing in the future!

Let's put it this way, Patricia. I'm currently working on Daniel's story.
Stella Riley
That is the plan - when I get a whole day in which to make a start!

Under A Dark Moon (Brandon Brothers - Adam) came out in ebook and paperback a couple of weeks ago, Anjali - I daresay you've seen it. As for narrators, your taste is completely opposite to mine, I'm afraid. I just can't get on with female narrators reading male characters - particularly sexy heroes.
Stella Riley
This is a tricky question and I'm not entirely sure I can answer it. However, the book that has always remained dearest to my heart is A Splendid Defiance - the reason being that it was my only chance to tell a true story that hadn't been told before. The events surrounding Banbury Castle and its garrison have 'fallen through the cracks' of history - largely because it is about non-famous names. Finding the truth was enormously difficult then (easier now thanks to the internet) but bringing it into the light was a privilege.
Stella Riley
Thank you, Carol - so glad both you and your husband have enjoyed Madonna and also Rock & Co. I'm currently working on Brandon Brothers #2 (Adam) but can promise a Rockliffe novella in time for Christmas. And you might be interested to learn that Alex will be recording Garland of Straw through June/July.
Stella Riley
I'm delighted you enjoyed The Black Madonna, Piper. Alex and I hope to do Garland of Straw but dates have not yet been set for recording it and, as I'm sure you realise, the process takes time. Meanwhile, have you reviewed Madonna - preferably on Audible? I'd appreciate it if you would/already have.
Piper

This question contains spoilers...
(view spoiler)[I loved Cadenza as I knew I would. What of Elizabeth and Lord Sherbourne though? Will their story continue in the next Rockcliffe book? (hide spoiler)]
Stella Riley
They may make an appearance. Ralph's difficulty in 'opening up' makes their relationship a relatively slow process. Writing this in detail (with any credibility!) may not be as interesting as you might think. If the main lack you felt was that of the wedding ... another wedding on the heels of Julian and Belle's felt like over-kill to me. And we'd already had a double-wedding in Hazard. Hope this answers your question, Piper!
Stella Riley
I'm assuming you mean Nicholas Wynstanton, Andrea - and his HEA with Madeleine was completed in Hazard so there's really nothing to add.
Andrea
Ahhh, ok so I've just got to keep going with the books, that's it, just really enjoying the series and looking his story! Thanks for following up with

I've been considering it, Linda but I can't promise anything. With the exception of the actual Restoration, the historical background was far from inspiring!

I received the first 15 minutes of Hazard from Alex just yesterday, Piper, and the completed files are due around mid-April. This would make the Hazard audio an early May release.
Stella Riley
It's a good question - and I'm finding it impossible to answer. I can think of plenty of outstanding heroes and heroines - but not a matching pair. I think Deanna Raybourn's Veronica Speedwell and Stoker a good fit - but that's probably because I've just been reading those books. And truly, isn't Revelstoke Templeton-Vane the best hero name ever?
Stella Riley
Thank you for your extremely kind and very insightful review, Felicia. Alex will be narrating the next book in my Rockliffe series but, at the present time, I don't plan to put the R & C books into audio. Two reasons for this; they're very long (which equates to expensive!) and the English Civil War doesn't do well on the US market - readers such as yourself being the exception rather than the norm. Bottom line? I'll see how Defiance performs.
Stella Riley
Not sure what the library comprehensive search is or where it searches, Ed. However, all my titles are available in e-format and paperback from Amazon/Createspace. Since I publish independently these days, copies rarely find their way into libraries anywhere - not even in the UK. Hope this helps.
Stella Riley
Yes, Chris. I've made a small start on Rockliffe Four and would hope to complete it in the latter part of this year. I'm also hoping to release A Splendid Defiance in audio sometime in the autumn - depending on Alex's schedule, of course.
Stella Riley
Yes, Kathie. I've just started Rockliffe Four - though progress will be delayed as I'm about to go on holiday for a month.

Hi Liz
I've been asked about Lucifer a good many times but I'm afraid the answer remains a resounding no. It was a first attempt at writing, on top of which it got hacked about in the publishing process and ended up neither one thing nor another. Basically, it isn't good and would merely bring a load of unwanted criticism down on my head. It's comforting that you and a handful of other readers like it ... but that isn't enough to make me take the risk. Sorry.
