Make a plan. As the old saying goes, if you aim at nothing you'll hit the target every time. Set a goal. When I first started I didn't think I had time to write with family and work responsibilities so I set a goal to write three times a week for 20 minutes. I quickly learned I had much more time to write than I thought.

I'm currently working on Shadowalkers (Book 2 Dragonborn Saga). Should be out early in 2023. This epic fantasy series travels through time with generations of humans & dragons learning to work together to rid the world of a living evil within the indestructible Book Darkmore. How can humans and dragons win this race? Only time will tell

I deal with it in a couple of ways. First, get up and walk away from the computer, and do something else. Often I go outside, away from technology, for a quick walk up the hill. This is less than 10 minutes but gets my heart going and gives my muse a chance to drift along finding the path to creativity. When I'm really stuck I'll go for a longer walk, or work on an unrelated project like a blog post. It's funny but my mind will often find what I'm looking for while it works in the background.
