I don't wait for inspiration. When I have an idea I write it down and save it. If the idea stays with me and won't let me go I know it's probably something I need to pay attention to and bring to completion.

As I mentioned before I always have several projects on my desk (or on my computer) at the same time. Don't really like to telegraph the subject matter, however.

You just need to write the stories you want (or need) to write. Don't get distracted by trying to write the next bestseller and trying to figure out how to adjust what you're doing to achieve that goal. If it's going to happen it's going to happen.

Watching a vision that only exists in your mind at first turn into something real.

I keep several projects going at one time. That way if I run up against a block on one project I can switch over to another. Always helps to walk away from the blocked project for a bit to clear the cobwebs.
