Nealey Stapleton I would love to go to The Shire and hang out with the Hobbits. Cool houses, a warm fire, good food, beautiful countryside and funny company - sounds awesome to me!
Nealey Stapleton What a fun question! Here it goes...

She was running as fast as she could bare-footed down the dark road, hoping it wouldn't catch her, each swift leap getting her farther and farther away. She gained some distance and turned the corner praying she would find help at the house she saw in the distance...but then she had a stomach-wrenching realization - that was the house she had just escaped from.
Nealey Stapleton The first one that comes to mind is funny and would probably be an illustrated kid's book. It's the case of the missing garbage bin! I think the post I put on Facebook about it sums it up...

"Okay someone help me out here! I cannot for the life of me come to a logical conclusion for what happened to me this week...so I'm all ears as to what you think...stay with me on this, it's long but entertaining...here's what happened...

Our humungous garbage can was on the curb last Friday for trash pick up. I was home all day working, took Brisket out a few times, bla bla bla. I went to retrieve the emptied trash can in the early afternoon, and it was gone. Not there. No where to be found.

Now I know what you're thinking, "One of the neighbors took it thinking it was there's by mistake." Nope! All of my surrounding neighbors have drastically different garbage cans.

The only conclusion I could come up with is: 1. Someone in the neighborhood stole it (and if that's the case, they need it more than we do) OR 2. The garbage truck damaged it somehow and just took it with them. Either way it was apparent after a few days that this thing was gone.

Fast forward to today, Friday, a solid week from the stolen garbage can incident. I go outside this morning to walk Brisket and the garbage can, MY GARBAGE CAN, is out on the curb with the others waiting for trash pick up.

It took me a few look overs to come to the conclusion that it was in fact ours. Here's what gave it away. The trash truck hasn't come yet. All of our trash cans are out there FULL of garbage. And my stolen garbage can is there, a 5th wheel to the other 4 that should be there AND it's EMPTY.

So...all of my previous conclusions can be tossed out the window and I think it's mine. It can't be someone else's...why would they put out an empty garbage can for the trash truck? But the real question is, where has it been all week and what was it used for?

The only conclusions I can come up with are:

1. Teenage aliens stole it for a week thinking it was a great practical joke.
2. An enormous band of squirrel misfits decided to take this thing for a week-long joy ride.

That's all I got. Anyone? Anyone?"
Nealey Stapleton Oooh good question! And hard to answer just one...but one of the first that comes to mind is Buttercup and Westley from The Princess Bride. I love how simple, pure and genuine their relationship is. Westley said it best, "This is true love. You think this happens everyday?"
Nealey Stapleton Sometimes I'll need to talk out loud to myself. I'll ask, "What am I trying to say here?" And then I'll answer out loud, even if it's just in fragments. With that small start, I can usually get typing with a good stream of conscious from there.
Nealey Stapleton If one person reads something I wrote and it changes their life for the better (even in the tiniest of ways), I'm just on cloud nine. Having a positive impact is the best thing about being a writer.
Nealey Stapleton I find inspiration in all sorts of places - reading books, listening to music, watching my Pug snore, you name it!
Nealey Stapleton 1. Create a writing routine that works for you, so that you write on a consistent basis AND stick to it.

2. Get out of your own head. All those negative voices telling you that you're not good enough etc. only hold you back. Push through those fears, and share your story with the world.

3. Get it done. Don't get it perfect.
Nealey Stapleton I'm currently working on a book that talks about getting organized with a focus on busting through procrastination. How much do you think you could get organized if you were able to steam roll over your procrastination?
Nealey Stapleton The number 1 question I get from people about getting organized is in regards to paper clutter, so I thought it was a fantastic topic to write about (and it was!).
