Lenore Schur I have one, but I can't reveal it because it would expose the entire plot and no one would read the book! It involves a secret part of my life that no one, not even my closest friends know exists. ;)
Lenore Schur I kept unraveling pieces of a psychological puzzle and as I became aware of them, I wrote them down. Rather than write a self-help book, I decided to weave the information into the details of a character's life to make it a more interesting read.
Lenore Schur I seem to find inspiration everywhere. I am an observer of life and people. Often I imagine telling my best friend about something I have observed and it turns into a note, a blog post, a magazine article idea or even the outline for a book or movie script.
Lenore Schur Robert Kincaid and Francesca Johnson in the Bridges of Madison Country. I have never read of such a powerful love between two people.
Lenore Schur In 2012, I wrote a screenplay of an amazing (in my opinion) movie. I also bought a book of names of all the current Hollywood Producers. What happened? Absolutely nothing. The Producer list book sits on my bookshelf, each day growing more and more out of date. In the meantime, the screenplay lies dormant on my computer waiting for a Hollywood Producer to call my home and ask me if I had written any good scripts lately. Yeah, I know. Not gonna happen. So, I decided to turn it into a book first. Hmmm, a little backwards, I suppose but who cares? That's what I am doing right now and it is a whole lot harder than it seems.
Lenore Schur The best advice I can give is one that I received from an amazing writer and blogging expert Jon Morrow. Everyday, sit in front of your computer and "Open the d*mn document!" That's how it starts. Don't wait to get inspired (unless you did at 3 am when you were supposedly sound asleep). Don't wait until after you've had your coffee, read the paper, washed the dishes, emptied the garbage... Make writing your work and it will work for you.
Lenore Schur Being able to permanently record my thoughts. The whole world is my potential audience. I only have to write what I think once and the readers can then decide if they agree or disagree.
Lenore Schur I haven't had to deal with it too often but if I really can't get started, I usually read what I have already written so far. Getting back into the story often creates scenarios that I hadn't thought of and begins to spark the creativity. Other times, I will have a shower. Something about the water running makes me think of many things to write. If I am really at a loss, I will try to have a nap. When my mind begins to relax, I can think with more clarity. Many times all I need is a single sentence to get going again.
