Nancy May I love Stephen King's quote: “If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot. There's no way around these two things that I'm aware of, no shortcut.”

Nancy May Actually I'm working on two books. The first is a sequel to Dogs Don't Talk, with the working title, "Girls Don't Wrestle". It goes into the main character, Benjamin's senior year.
The other book I'm working on is a historical, young adult fiction book regarding the blasphemy case of Thomas Aikenhead in 1696. I'm so fortunate to be a part of the Goodreads community of really fine writers. One I discovered was Peni Jo Renner, who wrote a book called Puritan Witch. I wish there were more crossover young adult/historical books out there.
Nancy May I wanted to write a book that focused on a family coping with a child who had autism. There are many good non-fiction books about the subject but I haven't read any fiction books that really delve into what it's like growing with a sibling with autism. Like most writers, I took things from my own life and created a story from many different families I've met through the years who went through similar things as we did.
