Kevin Laymon Releasing Future Winds smoothly, finishing up Emotive, & mapping out my next big project Stellar.
Kevin Laymon I have been on what I call a zen kick as of late and it helps a lot to be in a positive way of thinking while on the pursuit of creativity.

When I sleep I can sort of meditate on ideas or issues and elevate my mind to a point of inducing itself into a sort of hallucinogenic like state. It's difficult to explain, and I know what you are thinking, 'Dude that's called dreaming', but what I experience sometimes is way more intense than a mere dream. It is almost as if I have found a way to open the third eye and see things in a different light. The things I see when meditating in this way are sometimes very vivid and real. Sometimes things can even get out of control and lead to nightmares that can physically and mentally drain me for a few days after the experience.

Anyway all that craziness aside, My best source of inspiration is to learn and ask those questions that beckon for an answer in the back of your mind. We have become so lazy and routine in our way of day to day thinking. To get out there and exercise our minds in various ways is truly a magnificent thing.

I also really love nature. I can watch waves crash into rocks or tumbleweed blow by in the winds of the high desert for hours on end. It's far better than anything on television.
Kevin Laymon I actually started writing a really dark dystopian book called "Infidels & Insanity" in the winter of 2014. At the time I was in a really bad place. One of the few benefits of being where I was mentally was the writing for Infidels was spot on. After getting a few chapters finished I realized the potential for sequels which would take place in space and on other planets. The tone for the sequels would be more along the lines of science fiction, technology, survival, and even evolution in a sense while Infidels is simply a dark psychological thriller set on future science fiction Earth. I placed Infidels & Insanity on hold and began working on Future Winds in December 2015 & finished it up a little less than a year later. Down the road, when my mind is capable of returning to that very dark place it was when writing Infidels & Insanity, I will finish the book & publish it as the prequel to Future Winds.
