Julie Elizabeth Powell If you enjoy reading, buy what you like and make time to read it.
Julie Elizabeth Powell I've tried to answer one of them when I wrote Gone. It's one possible answer to where my daughter went after she was severely brain damaged at the age of two. Her body existed for seventeen years but her essence, who she had been, vanished, not knowing me or anything except pain and suffering until she died a second and final time. Where had she gone during those seventeen years? And what about afterwards?

After I wrote Gone, on the day I received a few paperbacks, I left the pile to one side and when I came back, there was a tiny white feather sitting central on top of the pile - yes, another mystery.

Who really knows the answer?
Julie Elizabeth Powell I could no longer run, exhaustion seeped into my very bones. So I stood still and waited for the horde to devour me.
Julie Elizabeth Powell To my created world of Avalon from Gone and The Avalon Trilogy. I'd meet all my characters and have some fun...but I would stay away from Puzzle Woods because terrible things happen there.
Julie Elizabeth Powell I seem to be reading many apocalyptic /post-apocalyptic /dystopian stories. Especially by Bobby Adair and T W Piperbrook.
Julie Elizabeth Powell Thanks for your questions, Joanie.

Not all of my books are novels, some are short stories or novellas. However, there is one epic trilogy that took a long time to do - over 1000 pages. It was fun though, being a fantasy. And when the dreams come, I have to write that idea. I love the way the imagination knows no boundaries and is limitless.

Testing and challenging my writing forces me to take all manner of tangents. I don't stick to rules or formulas, and those characters in my head usually lead the way. I also enjoy trying various genres, too, and really, I'd become bored with the same old thing.

The worst thing for taking time is marketing and promoting - I really hate it. Not that much works :)

I love writing and somehow find the time; that's if I don't sleep or do all those millions of other things concerned with life.

If you would like to read any of my work, please ask. I can offer mobi files and promo codes (as the majority of my stories are also audiobooks, as well now) - that's the marketing done!

Thanks again

Julie

Julie Elizabeth Powell I am a reviewer as well as an author, however, my list is vast so it would be a very long time before I could read it.

It's a good idea to try bloggers or the Amazon reviewers list. Try typing in 'reviewers' on Google, Facebook and Twitter. There are many groups on Facebook, for example.

Look through the lists on Goodreads, see who likes what, you may find what you need.

Thank you for connecting, Nina.

Julie Elizabeth Powell Hello, Michael

It depends on the length of the story of course. If it's a 'short' about a month, while novels can take up to a year. I also design all my own covers and video book trailers etc. And being and independent author, I have to do everything. Editing - yuk! I'm rubbish at marketing /promoting, too. Gosh, I'm exhausted just thinking about it all.

I usually have an idea and 'run' with it, rarely do I plot or plan, although I sometimes make notes if the story is back and forth in time or has a specific timeline and I need to check that everyone's in the right place at the right time. For the most part, I have numerous characters so I need to keep track.

On the whole, I see where it takes me, although, it's the characters that lead the way. I'm merely a slave. :)

I've been soooo busy lately that I've only had time to write 'shorts', while two novels (about halfway through) are languishing until...

Thank you for connecting.
