Chris James Go off and do something else for a day, a month, a year... When you go back to it, it'll be like meeting an old friend. "And then what happened?" you'll ask it. With any luck, the book will tell you.
Chris James The split second a really good plot twist enters your head. I try not to be too rigid in my planning so that the book can start writing itself. It's fun to watch it go. All I do is facilitate it.

Chris James Inspiration comes and goes. I guess that's the same with all writers. If there are other things making demands on your time - a day job, children etc - you really have to dig deep for inspiration.
Chris James I was living in Dubrovnik at the time in the former Yugoslavia - now Croatia. It was 1987 and we were trying to set up a tourist business (walking tours either side of their summer season). We were getting nowhere and out of frustration I began to write a book about a problem that had been troubling me for years - over-population. 27 years and several billion new people later, the book was published.
