My first Urban Fantasy experience was Kim Harrison's The Hollows. Many readers may have forgotton about the two I picked as my favorite couple, but their pairing stuck with me all these years. Everything about them felt real. Despite--or maybe because of--what happened in Book 5 (I think it was Book 5), they will live on as one of the great fictional couples. Who? Why, Rachel and Kisten, of course.
From my own books, I'd pick Nieve and Kieran (Divide and Conquer). Even though they're opposites in many respects, they just fit. There is a vulnerability about them when they're together, which is at odds with who they are in isolation. Isn't that how love is supposed to work?

A shifter novella with the strongest female character I've ever written. In fact, I keep trying to soften her, but she ain't having none of it. Not only does she kick my ass, poor Drake, whose job it is to help and 'protect' her, is losing face--and his heart.

Number one is that altered state you experience, where you're living the scene as if you were part of the story, while your fingers fight to keep up. A close second is receiving a kind comment by a reader. Our lives are so busy, so if someone takes the time to review or connect in another way, I'm touched. And if I can, I will write back.
