I don't really get inspired to write. I do sometimes get inspired WHILE I write though. But I have to start writing in order for the inspiration to come. Which is exactly why starting is the hardest part. People, including myself for years, often confuse getting started and getting inspired.

As we wait for the release of THE SEASON, we're working on rough drafts of 2 other books. An MG book about a 10 year old girl who finds trumpeter swans nesting on her pond and a YA paranormal thriller about a college freshman who unknowingly unlocks an ancient demon from a walking labyrinth on campus. We are also about to head Denmark on a research trip for a film about a Scandinavian king. Lots in juicy stuff in the hopper.

Well I have a writing partner. It's a dark day when both of us have no ideas and no motivation. So when I have writer's block I just say, "I got nothin'" and hope he does. Generally, unless you are really having a existential crisis of some kind, writer's block is really more like a road bump. Sure, it's an impediment, you have to slow down, easy over it, but then you're over it and you get back up to speed and move on down the road. Remember that it's a temporary state. Once little idea and you're past it.
