I can't think of anything to say. Moonshine? Seriously though, a lot of times I dream it or come out of a dream thinking it. I actually talk about this in Business is ART and that is where a lot of the book came from. If I'm not feeling it but know I need to, the best things for me are to take a nice hot shower, drive without the radio on, or lay back and float on a boat.

The HARDEST thing is referring to myself as a writer. But I officially am now. The best thing for me about being a writer is the creative outlet without which I sometimes think I would burst. Things are out of whack, off-balance, if I'm not creating something...and I am a horrible visual artist, so writing and music is where I go for solace.

It's cliched but just do it. If you want to gain an audience start building a platform in advance of writing. Don't try to emulate anyone else that writes. Be yourself and "become" the characters as you write them.

I just finished my 2nd musical which I wrote as a fund raiser for a local 110 year old theater that had gone out of business. I've had some interest from a boutique publisher about a fictional novel I wrote a few years ago for myself as a form of therapy following a tragic loss. Not sure I want to go there. Meanwhile, I need to focus on promoting Business is ART but I do have two ideas for a next book. Maybe in a few months I will sit down to write it.

Usually I wake up in the middle of the night with an "itch" that can't be scratched unless I get up and write whatever I am thinking. Otherwise, looming deadlines honestly inspire me to crank out abnormally high levels of work.

From a book on my list called The Consulting Bible by Alan Weiss. He basically says if you want to be taken seriously as a consultant you have to write a book. Business books often bore me so I wanted mine to be both entertaining and informative.
