My second book for Manilla Press - it'll be another murder mystery, this time set in New Mexico in 1970. It's about a small town with a dark past. A group of hippies looking for the peaceful life moves in and starts asking questions. But they soon find out that some answers are dangerous.

Seeing the ideas in your head come alive on the page. I also love how characters take on a life of their own as they develop from a murky image in your mind into fully-fledged, amazing people with hearts and minds.

Write through it. I know it's really hard, but it's got to be done. Often you'll find that the scenes you've really struggled with are actually quite good. Deadlines can help, or rewards. Personally, I like to write in the park away from Wifi, because that means I can't be distracted.
