James Rourke Accept criticism and correction. We love what we write, but it doesn't mean our first (or our tenth) draft is beyond reproach. Write and rewrite...get to know your characters, plot, worlds, conflicts, etc. through, not just the isolation of writing, but by collaborating with talented, trusted people. And accept questions. If someone reads your work and something isn't clear to them, the problem could be your manuscript lacks clarity. Be humble.
James Rourke By writing! That probably doesn't solve very helpful. I have discovered that writer's block is a form of paralysis by analysis, so just write. Most of what anyone writes will altered through the proofreading/editing process so if some of your writing is merely gibberish to get your creative juices flowing...that's fine! Besides, sometimes great ideas spill out of us when we least expect it!
