The closest thing I experience to writer's block is a lack of motivation or this need to stop writing for a few days when what I'm writing touches a nerve. What I do when this happens, is that I get up, take a break, read a book, work on something else (I'm often working on multiple projects at the same time) and then come back to it the next day. Then I force myself to push through it.

I meditate and do some form of divination daily, and that's really where the inspiration for Elysium came from. I also journal daily, so I work out a lot of my thoughts, and problems on the page.
I really do think that keeping a daily journal is like meditation in the sense that you're focusing on clearing out all this emotion and finding what's really behind it, finding ways to clear out the clutter and remain with the important stuff.
Sometimes they all bleed through, one into the other, and stories begin to grow.

Everything. I know that sounds a bit ambiguous, but I really do love everything about being a writer. I live most of my life in my head, imagining stories, parallel lives, and to be able to bring them to life, and do that for the rest of my life, it's pretty awesome.
As they say, do something you love, and you won't have to work a day in your life. Because even the difficult days are pretty great compared to having a job that I don't feel any passion or love for.
