My travels! I love going to new places, so I decided to base the Destination: Desire series on all the places I've been with my guy.

Deadlines! They are the ultimate motivator. Other than that, pretty much anything can be inspiring. A street name, a city I've visited, a conversation, click around the internet doing research.

Right now, I'm splitting my time between my paranormal erotic series and my steamy contemporary series. I like being able to go back and forth...it keeps me from getting bored with one genre!

I often do best if I get up and do something else, but actively think about my writing. Go for a walk, do the dishes, water my plants...doing something mindless 1) lets me accomplish *something* and 2) lets my mind wander and poke at the problems I'm having in my story.
What has also worked is just skipping the scene that's stumping me and writing another part of the book. If chapter 3 is blocking me, I might jump to the end and write that, then mentally work my way backwards to how chapter 3 can/should get me to The End I just finished. It sounds crazy, but it works sometimes!

I think one of the most important things to do is make writing a habit. I used to say "write every day," but that's not always realistic for people. So, just find a way to regularly work writing into your routine. It's much easier to get into the head space required to write if you've made a habit of getting in to that head space.
