My latest book 'Innerbody Wisdom' sprang out of a morning quiet time. It came to me that I had promised numerous students over the years that I would indeed write a book. The time was right. I knew it in my guts.

Mostly my inspiration springs from my daily quiet time - ten vital minutes (often morphing into 20) when I sit with my self in sweet silence. Thinking about writing is often counter productive - I need to think less and dive deeper.

The middle book of a Druid Trilogy called 'When Mountains Fall.' It is tricky pulling in the threads from Book I and weaving them into the central theme of book 2 and keeping an eye on the third book evolving now out of my research. Novels are delightful and I love to read them. Book one of When Mountains Fall will be out in July.

Write. Write every day. Hone your writing muscles on a daily diary. Never take it too seriously and if you do, take a day off and have fun. Be very very patient with your writer self. Every day is a new chance. Don't edit or criticise what you have written for at least three days.

I can sit comfortably in my own home, or take a walk in my beloved garden, or make a cup of tea whenever I want and absolutely no one (well, except for my lovely editor) to tell me or suggest what to do. It is a glorious creative empowering complicated frustrating roller coaster! Don't do it unless you absolutely have to and nothing else matters.

I write in my personal diary first thing - at least half a page of a spiral notebook, just about what happened yesterday. I make sure I am comfortable and I have a cup of herbal tea! Then I put the diary down and focus on my body for 5 minutes, just breathing, seeing what thoughts crop up and writing them down afterwards if they are important or something I forgot to do. For another 5 mins I ask my mind to be quiet and just sit with my felt self. If thoughts intrude I politely ask my mind to stop. This opens the door into my inner world and the rest from thinking automatically triggers a boost in creative thinking and ideas. It is foolproof but takes practice.
