Usually it's a subject that I am thinking about or something that someone has asked me about and I realize that it would be easier to write it all down in detail then try to verbally communicate the answer. I find writing easier than talking sometimes (LOL) plus as I write I tend to automatically clarify things that I wouldn't necessarily catch if I was speaking so the end product is usually more detailed and thorough.

I am currently reading "Undo It" by Dr. Dean Ornish. I am also reading through Gini Koch's Alien series of books (I am on book #7 at the moment.)

Just write anything. You need to start somewhere. Let it lead you to where it wants to go and then refine it afterwards. In this day and age of self-publishing it is so much easier than it used to be to get your ideas down and into the public. Take advantage of that and know that you can be a great writer you just have to commit to it and then take massive action to get it done.

I just go for a walk or basically do something else for a while. Sometimes your mind has to concentrate on something else in order to get the juices flowing again. If it is a writer's block that's been an ongoing episode then sometimes the best thing to do is to just sit down and write anything. The action of actually writing to write usually will jump start an idea and eventually you'll start writing freely again.

Being independent and making your own work hours. Also, it's the ability to create something out of nothing and having a physical thing materialize out of that.

I am currently working on a book on social media for the rest of us. It's a comprehensive work that delves into the reasons why social media is so important in this day and age in order to promote your business, non-profit, craft, music, etcetera and addresses the fact that many people know they need a social media presences but either are not tech savvy, don't know exactly what to do and feel paralyzed, or just don't want to be bothered with the whole experience. It will provide a step by step guide on setting up your social media properly and how to maintain your social media presence with minimal expenditures of time and money. The book (as yet untitled) will be available this Summer 2015. :)

This was a collaboration with the author, Matthew Lewis, D.C., where I was asked to help edit the book and then it evolved into me writing a chapter regarding social media for the book as well. I am currently writing a complete book on social media for small business owners, home-based business owners, non-profits and just the regular person who wants to learn about increasing their social media exposure for their business, hobby, band, art, etcetera. That book will be out this summer 2015.
