Jean Lowe Carlson Hi Holli, thanks for your question! Due to a publishing change, I've had to take the series down from Nook, iBooks, etc and make it Amazon-exclusive for now. Not sure if it will stay that way long-term, but that's the situation at the moment. You can purchase the ebook of Goldenmark on Amazon, but it is a different format than Nook. Amazon has their Kindle e-reading app available for pretty much any device, though - I use it on my Mac laptop and Motorola phone, since I don't have a Kindle or Kindle Unlimited subscription. Hope that helps! Jean
Jean Lowe Carlson Hi Abby! Thanks for your question. My books are definitely written for adults, not teens or YA. There are a few on-screen sex scenes throughout the series, which includes nudity, though they're important to character development. Also, these books have a lot of cussing, because most of the characters are soldiers in the Queen's army. Hope that helps! Jean
Jean Lowe Carlson Hi Brandon, thanks for getting in touch! I do have maps of the world available, you can view them here on my website Maps and Resources page: https://www.jeanlowecarlson.com/the-k... Let me know if you need larger files, I can always email them to you: info@jeanlowecarlson.com.
Jean Lowe Carlson Hi Book Goblin! Yes, I did narrate Blackmark myself, and I am currently working on the narration for Bloodmark. I'm hoping to have it out sometime this spring, ideally by March 2019, with the Goldenmark audio out by summer 2019. Thanks for your question! - Jean
Jean Lowe Carlson Hi Marco! Yes, there will be an audiobook version of Bloodmark available. I've just started production on it, so probably by the end of the summer. Thanks so much for reading (and listening!), and glad you are enjoying the series! - Jean
Jean Lowe Carlson Hi Thomas - So glad you are enjoying the books, and thanks for reading! Yes, I'm planning at least 9 total novels in the Kingsmen Chronicles series, plus a host of other books set in that world. This first series is present-day, then we'll have a prequel series that explores Khehem and the reign of the tyrant King Leith Alodwine a thousand years before the events of the KC. Then, we come back to the present for a third series that wraps up the storylines of Elohl et al. I'm also planning at least three one-off satellite novels about various historical characters, and considering a trilogy about the Giannyk-Albrenni wars. I'm just getting started. Lots more to come!
Jean Lowe Carlson Hi Elena - Thanks for reading! GOLDENMARK will be out June 18th, and I'm fairly set on that release date. My final edits are in progress, and I'm in the process of some last re-writes to tie the entire story together. Not long now!
Jean Lowe Carlson Hi Dennis – So glad you are enjoying the series, and sorry I didn't see your question on Goodreads until just now! GOLDENMARK now has a release date of June 18th, 2018, so "mark" your calendar!
Jean Lowe Carlson Absolutely, Ari! I would love to have you on board! My Launch Team is where all the magic happens - are you on it yet? You can join here (and read all the details about how it works): http://jeanlowecarlson.com/launch-team/

If you'd like to be a reader for even earlier edits, please email me at jeanlowecarlsonauthor@gmail.com. I'm always looking for people to beta-read earlier drafts of novels and short stories, though these things would be more in the developmental stage rather than the final version. Some people enjoy doing this - getting a sneak look at how a book is shaping up and providing feedback, others don't because they feel it spoils the final novel for them. Up to you! Contact me if you're interested. Great to chat with you again! Jean
Jean Lowe Carlson I'm working my way through Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive - The Way of Kings. Also want to start some Mark Lawrence and dig in to the next Robin Hobb!
Jean Lowe Carlson Two ways: 1. Jump to one of the other projects I'm working on until I think of a solution to the primary project. 2. Ask my husband Matt. Getting someone who knows you well to bounce plot ideas and character motivation off of is priceless! Love you, baby!
Jean Lowe Carlson Sharing! I love to see people smile and get excited when they read something and go, "oh, damn! that was awesome." I also like to challenge people's expectations. Too often we're asked to pigeonhole our works into categories. I like to break those. Why can't I write a fantasy/dystopian/M-M/romance/erotica/supernatural/epic? Ain't no reason not to. Why can't I write a fantasy epic/western/menage/angels/demons? It's called the Book of Truth, by the way. ;-) Break those categories, baby!
Jean Lowe Carlson I would feel pretentious answering this, really. But we'll give it a go. Write shit down. Had a great dream? Write it down before it's gone. Even if that's three words, better to have three words than to let it go and then think later, "Damn! I shoulda written that down because now I can't remember anything." There are times when I get up in the middle of the night just to snag my computer and get down 10 sentences about something I just dreamed. Some of my best ideas came that way.
Jean Lowe Carlson Ah! Too many things! I have about ten works currently in progress (and 20-30 page ideas for fifteen more)! They just keep snowballing. Four novels are finished and being heavily edited right now (other than the Oblenite series - those are done) - these are the Key of Fire series and the Kingsmen Chronicles, and a few solo romance novels. Then I have a number of other items between 50-75% finished... I just keep writing! Never a dull moment on my computer... ;-)
Jean Lowe Carlson Dreams. Definitely. I can't stop myself from writing them down. Ever since I was little, I've had the most vivid dreams, so much so that it's sometimes hard to shake them when I wake up. And the imagery is so lush, so beautiful, that I want to capture it all with my writing. Usually I come up with 20-30 pages about a certain character reacting to a certain scene, and then I let it sit for a while... and when I come back, I'll usually get an idea for a full novel.
Jean Lowe Carlson The idea for the Three Days of Oblenite series came to me in a dream. Actually, I get most of my book ideas from dreams. At the start of Breath (Book One) there is a mardi gras meets dia de los muertos meets Venetian carnivale scene where Gryffine (the heroine) wanders through and ogles the masques and costumes and revelry. This was avery vivid dream sequence for me, and I had a clear picture of the parade in my dream, of Gryffine's bleak Gothic-Victorian manse with all its dark wrought-iron, and of the approach to Marnet's bar where she meets Gypsun bartender Jessup Rohalle. I began to write it out, and then it just seemed like curses and religious tension around the devil/demons/demonic posession would be rife in such a dark, gothic setting... and there it was!
