The book I just completed, Grantsmanship: Program Planning & Proposal Writing, was a journey that took many years and all-out commitment. I knew Norton Kiritz who wrote the 1972 world-changing 47-page publication from which this new book sprang. Norton established the field of Grantsmanship and it was imperative to my field that his seminal work be vastly updated and expanded. I'll be forever grateful to have had the honor of doing this important piece of work.

I have so much I want to share with professionals in my field, that I find inspiration all over the place. All I need is time. If I take a few minutes for myself and sit down in a quiet spot with a cup of coffee--there you have it. I've got another idea and I'm off and running again.

I believe that my work is beneficial to professionals in my field, but also hugely helpful to communities and people in need. It's rewarding to help people plan responses to problems and get the funding they need to make positive change. I also enjoy the challenge of making complex information easy to understand and of speaking in a direct, straight-forward way in a field that is too often explained in an overly complicated way.

I write about my profession and I have a lot to say. Fortunately, so far I haven't had to deal with writer's block.
