Rose-Marie opened the door to her newly purchased home. Quietly she entered not finding any lights, not even from the windows; she cleared the threshold and the front door slammed behind her.

Well, in between writing my own, I am reading and ghostwriting two of each.

Not really a mystery, but the torn relationship between my Dad and I. There are so many questions unanswered and too much pride to ask them.

There's a story to tell. You can't be afraid to tell your side...and everyone has one. Don't think about who's going to listen, or if anyone will listen. Don't write for anyone else, do it for you.
It took me 10 years to figure that out. We don't all have that kind of time.

Put it away. Take a breather and don't let it rent the space in your head.
Forget it totally and come back to it way, way, way later. I often dream my scenes. It's something I wish would stop sometimes. Then I will work (yes, I have a regular 9-5) and I will write like there is no tomorrow. Some days I don't write at all.
But you've got to give yourself time to develop whatever you're going to write. Take notes. Be real and honest with yourself. Write what you want to read, not what everyone else is reading.
The best story is a true story. Your story.

Hmmm, for me? I was not fond of being read or hearing my stuff...weird, I know.
But I would say the best thing is being accepted as a writer, poet, author. It all feels accomplishing and freeing.

Don't. Give. Up.
This venture was 10 years in the making. I kept coming up with all kinds of excuses and reasons why I shouldn't, but none of them were solid ones.
Don't let anyone tell you how to tell your story...was the best advice I've ever gotten from another Author. I'd read all her books and was enthralled with her writing! She writes like we all feel...and that's where I wanted to be.

Right now, I am currently working on book two. This is more involved with Devin and Aria - now they're together and seeing what being a working and playing couple means.
There are obstacles, of course, Aria's dad being a major one - comes to the States.
And Devin, well....you'll just have to read.

Wow. the idea sort of arose via a former coworker of mine. He and I began with the idea to write the book together. He would develop the male character and I would develop the female - each other's chapters would feed off of the other.
When I began with the prologue, he never had given me the first chapter - Devin. But we had discussed what he wanted to do with the character (i.e. the type of person he was, the life he led, etc.)
When a few months passed and I'd begun developing scene based on our discussions, I just began to take notes during our conversations and started to write oon my own.
