Write, write, write! The more you write, the better you get, and ideas for stories become easier to find.
The other thing is that no matter how many times you edit and proofread, you will find things needing to be changed. Work hard and get help from friends and editors.

I have started writing the second book in this series called GHOST LIGHT.
In this book Meghan, Liliana's daughter will be the main character as she opens her community theatre in the reconstructed barn. All of the characters from RETURN TO THE SCENE will be there, too. I have fleshed out the story, but have barely begun, so more info later.

I have always loved to write! When I worked in Special Education, I wrote professional articles, curricula, etc. I started adapting classic literature into children's plays to help my students with special needs understand the stories that were way above their reading levels. After I retired from teaching, I rewrote those plays and about 30 more, and I sell them on my website, classic acts.net. My goal is to help kids understand the classics.
But I really wanted to write a book; I have always wanted to do that. And teachers always say to write what you know, so I incorporated events from my life into my book. The secret is which are fact and which are fiction!

A great deal of the ideas in this book came from my childhood experiences. I did grow up on a vegetable farm and lived in a 250 year old house that had once been an inn, and many of Lily's adventures were my own.
