A combination of many things. Historical maltreatment, social work, spiritual studies. I have law enforcement people in my family so I get to hear those stories, as well. Life experience. An active imagination. A desire for justice. Put it all together and there we go...time ferments it into a story, I guess.

I don't know. I love words. I read every day. I have spent years in Social Work and years doing life coaching using a combination of SW skills and out-of-the-ordinary skills (numerology, astrology, tarot cards). As a result, I have a wealth of knowledge about the human condition, human behavior.

I can let my imagination run wild. Exercise my demons, laud my heroes. Research. Yes I am a research nerd and I discover such amazing things. Who knew? Creating, building something. And I can work in my pajamas.

Keep writing and know that editing is on the schedule for the next day. Or take a shower, or walk the dog. Taking myself out of the situation for a little bit often helps. Or even meditation. Letting the mind do its own work while I have a bit of time doing something else.
