I remember I was in the middle of reading Beautiful Creatures and Divergent when I first started writing AMANI: Remember. I woke up one day wanting to write. I'd never thought of becoming a writer before that and I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
The image of a girl in a coma grew into a brand new world and, as I wrote, my personal beliefs transformed into supernatural ideas and I got caught in between parallel Dimensions and my own tangible life.

I am inspired by dreams I have or sometimes a simple thought that'll produce some kind of firework in my brain and BOOM! I've got myself a new twist or an obstacle my characters must face before they can make any progress.
The news is also inspiring, as well as book I read.
The best thing to do is to look around and ask yourself, "What if..."

I'm currently juggling between the sequel to AMANI: Remember and a new YA series that'll involve teen issues like sexual abuse and anger management.

Doing what you love? But I guess everybody should love their job, right?
No, but really? I love creating new worlds and finding the perfect names for my characters. I can't use a character if their name doesn't fit with their personality. It simply doesn't work like that for me.
It's also great to speak to your characters in your head when you're all alone... or maybe it's just me. Please don't send me to an asylum.

To be completely honest, I've never had writer's block... I've had the opposite problem though: you know, the one when you just can't stop the ideas from flowing and don't have time to write them down!
What do I do then? I get mad at myself for not always having a pen in my purse--or up my sleeve if I have to.
There were times, however, when I couldn't focus on writing because I was either too tired or I couldn't stop the arrow on my computer screen to click on the little F on the upper left corner. F stands for Facebook.
To fix the situation, I either get myself a cup--or two--of tea and maybe even take some time to listen to inspirational music such as movie soundtracks from Hans Zimmer.
