Jennifer Joy One of my favorite writing quotes is from Louis L'Amour. He said: “Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.”
Usually just sitting down and placing my fingers over my keyboard works, but on the rare occasions it doesn't, this is my next favorite quote: “You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” -- Jack London
Some days inspiration flows and some days it plays hard-to-get, but I make sure I'm always ready (bucket and baseball bat in hand ... because I like to come prepared!).

Jennifer Joy My most recent series, Murder on the Equator, is based on my life. Living in South America is an adventure and I never want to forget what it was like to experience and adapt to a new culture.
Common writing advice is to write what you know. Well, while I don't have any experience with solving murders (outside of reading other mystery books, thank goodness!), I do know my little part of Ecuador and how the life and the people here have influenced me. I love it and I wanted to share it with readers who might like it too.
Jennifer Joy Great question! Like most people, I suspect mine is more along the lines of: Why do I have so many tupperware lids? Who ate the last cookie? (although that one's usually my son) Where are all the missing socks?
