I trained as a journalist which meant I always had a deadline and a boss breathing down my neck. I cannot imagine saying to him or her at the end of the day "sorry, I had writer's block". Then when I was writing fiction I had a small child which meant writing when I could. This has proved to be the best training and I can honestly say that I've never suffered writer's block. All my writing needs polishing and editing and more editing and then rewriting. My writing style is to get it down on the page, anything, whatever occurs to me at that moment and then rewrite, polish and edit. Especially edit.

Its like nike, just do it. Sit down at that laptop and write. Get it down. You can polish and edit later. The first thing is to get down on "paper" your thoughts. The hard work, I thinkl, is in that rewriting, editing stage. But for that to be possible, you need to have something to work with.
