Susan Froetschel Judy, For Fear of Beauty, I tried to travel to Afghanistan, embedded with a military unit, but never had the opportunity. I spent a great deal of time examining historical book about the country, written between the 1940s and 1960s, and I spoke to many Afghanis while living in Washington, DC. The research and writing for this book took a year and then I had six months to revise. Thank you for reaching out! Susan

Susan Froetschel A childhood friend and I met after not seeing each other for many years and the topic of lying came up. Don't ask me why. But she insisted that she never lied. I was less adamant. If one regards withholding information a lie, then her claim would rest on less solid ground. Lying is self-defense for many, and certainly in my upcoming book, Allure of Deceit.
