My most recent book is Mosaic. The subject of the book is surviving child abuse. Child abuse is only one of them. It is a very confronting reality for many people, men and women alike. It is a book about surviving not just child abuse in particular, but any trauma, we may have encountered in our past. You can say that I got the idea from being aware of the evils in our society. It was informed by some of my experiences and others close to me,

Inspiration comes naturally to me. Usually, when I'm the shower doing my business because that's when I'm relaxed. When I'm relaxed, my brain is free to be creative.

I'm currently working on three stories. Cameron of the Seas, the third book of the Cameron Series.
'Don't Stand Still, the third book of the Colour Series which I write under my other pen name, Jack O. Daniel.
And, a stand-alone novel called, Scorched.
My brain can work on multiple threads.

My advice is to keep writing. Practice makes perfect. Be willing to listen to constructive criticism, this is why an editor should always be a part of your team.
Do not make the mistake of relying only on spell check and Grammarly. These software should be part and parcel of the process, but not solely your means of proofing your work. Employ a proofreader if you're an indie author, nothing can beat a trained eye.

The best thing about being a writer is the ability to live vicariously through their characters. Creating a "person" isn't just a matter of giving it a name and a profession.
When a writer breathe life into their characters, they have to them a back story, a motivation, a future and a personality. I often joke that only a writer can speak to, and be, five different characters at once and still be called sane.

I have been very lucky. Thankfully, I haven't had to encounter writer's block. I imagine should this ever happen to me, I would watch a marathon of my favourite TV shows like Numb3rs, Flashpoint, West Wing, etc. Creatively written shows can provide effective trigger to a fertile imagination.
