Duane Pesice It was an experiment. I thought I'd put together a little ebook, to learn the ropes. I was gonna test the waters and then take it "out of print". It sold enough copies that I never did, though there have been problems with the formatting throughout its existence.
It's going into a second edition and will be issued as a paperback also.
Duane Pesice I'm of the school that believes in perspiration and don't depend so much on inspiration.
My preparation consists of hippie speedballs after breakfast, screwing around on social media (and thinking about writing) until my answers get long, and then getting to work. I write for at least three hours a day unless a calamity emerges.
Duane Pesice Many things. I'm a spaghetti-thrower. I work multiple projects unless there's a deadline.
I write weird fiction and also do sportswriting, chiefly about baseball.
Duane Pesice Don't stop. You have a lot of bad writing to get through -- don't be discouraged. Submit your work to professional editors as often as possible -- there's no faster way to learn.
Duane Pesice It depends. If there's a deadline, I power through. I do have projects that have taken 15, 20 years to finish.
