Andrea L. Wells Yes, absolutely Mary! As a matter of fact, we're also going to be diving much deeper into Xavier's world for Book #2.
Andrea L. Wells There is no formula to writing. What works for someone might not work for you. What I can tell you with great certainty is this: writing is a process. Let the process take place. Don't rush it - don't force it. I started writing The Violet Hour more than five years before it was actually published. Though I had penned the entire novel in four months time, it took several years of trial and error to get it right. There have been times when my editor and I have discussed a single paragraph's content for more than a week before making a change.
But, that being said, don't be afraid to just sit down and write. What might start out as an exercise could turn into your next novel, and what you'd hoped started as your next novel, might just become a saved file in the depths of your desktop. Both of those scenarios are equally okay. Why? Because your accomplishing exactly what you set out to do: write.
Andrea L. Wells Sigh. I have no idea. I just decided to sit down one rainy fall evening in early November 2009 and start writing. Four months later, I had completed my first novel. I know the story was going to be about a strong teenage girl who needed to take grab fate by the horns. Other than that, I had no idea the story was going to go the places it did. I didn't set out to write a paranormal novel; romance.. maybe, but never paranormal. It just sort of happened to all my characters and I at the same time.
Andrea L. Wells Music. And reading. I'm obsessed with both and thus both are huge influences on my writing. I actually listen to music while I write. Might seem impossible... or too over-stimulating, but for me, it actually drowns the rest of the world out.
Andrea L. Wells I'm currently working on both Book 2 and Book 3 of The Violet Hour Series. As of now, April 2015, Book 2 is about 75% written and Book 3 is about 25% written. After the release of The Violet Hour takes place, I'll have more time to focus on finishing the series. The story is all there, I just need time to set down and write!
