Write! It's often easy to get trapped into thinking about writing but nothing beats putting pen to paper and cultivating a daily practice. Also read widely and critically. If I come across a sentence or paragraph I really like while reading someone else's work, I'll step back and put myself in the shoes of the other writer and unpack how that piece of writing came to be.
