Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Judy Cox THE SECRET OF THE DOOLITTLE DEVICE stars the rat brothers, Frederick and Ishbu. Ishbu loves marshmallow treats and Frederick loves Geography. Frederick and Ishbu were real rats that I had in my Kindergarten classroom. I used to make up stories about their adventures for my students. The three books in the series, THE MYSTERY OF THE BURMESE BANDICOOT, THE CASE OF THE PURLOINED PROFESSOR, and THE SECRET OF THE DOOLITTLE DEVICE grew out of those stories.
