John Nicholl Hi Kim, I'm glad you've contacted me. Hugely frustratingly, an early draft of the book was originally uploaded to Amazon in error. The correct professionally edited and proofread version is now live on Amazon. If you contact me at nicholl06@hotmail.com, I'll send you the revised version straight away. No charge, of course. Best wishes, John

John Nicholl Keep the faith; write and re write, write from your experience, and show don't tell.
John Nicholl Writing White is the coldest colour was a cathartic process. I'm something of a perfectionist, and never feel entirely satisfied with my work. White is the coldest colour was inspired by my professional experiences. The novel is entirely fictional, but draws on my experiences as a police officer, child protection social worker, manager and trainer.
During my career I was faced with case after case that left me incredulous as to the harm sexual predators chose to inflict on their victims. The book reflects that reality.

The story is set in 1992, a more naive time when many found it extremely difficult to believe that a significant number of adults posed a serious risk to children.

The book includes content that some readers may find upsetting from the start.

It is dedicated to survivors everywhere.
John Nicholl I worked for the police, child guidance service, two social services departments and the NSPCC. I guess it was a book I had to write.
