Thank you terrie! I hope you have fun with it!
It's a good question- when I was first writing the book, I was calling it "Reparations for Cassandra" but it turned out that I tended to write more slapstick than drama, and that title seemed too serious.
So I tried to think of a way to describe someone figuring themselves out, and came up with Revealing Hannah- I added the myth the story is based around so all those Greek mythology buffs could find their way to my story.
Each book in the series will be named "Revealing Hannah" and then insert the name of the myth the story draws from. While I am inspired by myths and ancient legends, the book is set in the current time frame and deals with modern day issues. I hope you enjoy it!!

I had been writing an essay on the myth of Cassandra exploring the idea of women's voice. I found myself frustrated with Cassandra's apparent lack of creativity when it came to get people to listen to her, despite her curse. I wrote about my own choices of when I speak, and more interestingly, when I choose not to speak.
At the same time that I was working on that essay I was also playing with the creation of a fictional character based solely on nature of a name. I had always thought that it was funny that Diane Nyad was a swimmer- niads being water nymphs- and so I picked a name and created a character shaped by the name. The name Hannah appealed to me both because it was a palindrome (the same forward as it is backward ) and the soft "h" sounds at the beginning and the end belied the hard "n" center. The Hannah I created was someone who seemed all accommodating and soft but was actually opinionated and stubborn.
I had been working on defining a new writing project and struggling to commit. While at dinner with my husband, I started suggesting it might be time to put the writing down and get on with a more traditional job hunt, when he asked me what I had been working on. On the spot I started to weave together the two projects- and ended up with the idea of writing about a young woman who doesn't like to say much but , unlike Cassandra who is cursed to have no one listen to her, this woman is given the gift of having everyone listen to everything she says.
Over dinner I started to spool out a story, complete with a set of flawed Greek gods in a very real setting of the modern world. The original working title of the book was "Reparations for Cassandra." Five year later I am thrilled to share Hannah's story with readers, hoping she will entertain.
The second book in the series is in editing and the third and fourth books are mapped out. I hope to have the second book available to purchase in Nov. 2015.
