The media and statistics, plus personal experience, really sparked the idea for my SingleHearted series. Sexual abuse is a problem, and ignoring it will not make it go away. I wanted to show that victims will become heroes, and that the justice system needs to change in order to protect victims instead of abusers.

For me, I have always loved creating stories. I love getting fresh ideas and seeing them come to life through my writing.

I read for inspiration. Facebook and other social media have wonderful stories that help me spark ideas. I also read my favorite authors... basically anything to take my mind off my writer's block. Then, I take a deep breath and remind myself that this will pass. Once the pressure is off, I get back to writing with renewed energy.
