Just keep writing even if you have to delete it all later.
I do distance running. You just have to keep going even though there are moments that feel impossible. The flow always comes back.

Jut do it. If you feel that you want to write there is really no point in waiting. It's best to start writing and wait for the story to develop. It was a long time desire until the day that the realisation struck in banal location, the Nike Store at Oxford Circus in London: if you want to write, then just do it. It took six years of writing and, more painfully, deleting; the support of The Literary Consultancy in London proved invaluable. The isolation and the escapism that writing a book offered proved extremely therapeutic especially when i was trying to finish the book after I had just survived a stroke.

My daughter and I both ride. So the equestrian theme comes from my interest in riding. The story is an expression of a belief in the inevitability of highs and lows in the course of existence. Moreover, the coherence of each occurence, however random and dramatic it may appear in isolation, within an overall grand plan needed to be elucidated through the story of Emma who wins the Olympics on the one hand and gets her teeth kicked in a violent and despicable rape. Emma's beauty contrasts brutally with the ugliness of her experiences mais c'est la vie.
