Tabatha Stirling Hello, Norman

Thanks so much for getting in touch. I write poetry because the words and images within my world inspire me. People, as well. There is a lyricism with poetry that is incredibly fulfilling.

The poem is about my childhood in Somerset, England & a love that I lost.
Tabatha Stirling Why certainly - much poetry, flash fiction and poetry can be found here :)

PS Do you have any collections?
Tabatha Stirling Thank you so much. You have made my day. I haven't actually ever visited Africa but spent four years in S.E Asia where female modern day slavery is very evident. It affected me quite deeply and I think it has become a theme in much of my writing. I am also bewitched by the idea of Africa. The colours, in particular. Thank you so much for your question. Alex.
Tabatha Stirling I was walking with my best friend through the Somerset countryside, one Summer's day, and we were 'attacked' by some giant thistles and nettles. It gave me the idea for my Botanical Golems and Botanical Malice just grew from there.
Tabatha Stirling I'm incredibly lucky that ideas literally just occur to me all through the day and through my dreams. The inspiration is just there but like George R Martin, I am very slow writer and can take years to finish a book.
Tabatha Stirling I have 2 current WIP's, one is a YA supernatural fantasy, Botanical Malice, and the other is a zombie novella series called, Light Crisis. However, I've just had a baby so everything has slowed down somewhat.
Tabatha Stirling I don't really understand this question because to me, you either write or you don't. Even if you are not published but still write - you are a writer. And that should be acknowledged.
Tabatha Stirling Getting my madness onto paper and getting great feedback from people.
Tabatha Stirling I don't ever get a 'block' as such but I do experience periods of motivation blindness. This is when the very thought of writing seems so distant that I will do literally anything to avoid doing it.
