The idea came to me when I was just nine years old. I have always been fascinated with God's Word (the Bible) and at a young age I wondered what it might have been like to experience the miracles of the Bible as a teenage girl living in those times. It took a while, but the idea never left me and has not only inspired Fire by Night, but an entire future career in Biblical fiction!

Always differently, though the routine might look something like this: Get up, walk around in circles while explaining my frustrations to the Lord, have a snack, bother my cat, clean something, sing a song and do a dance, call my mom, have another snack. Eventually, I sit down again and press on. In the end, it comes down to prayer, patience, and perseverance.
