Luz C. Rios I step away from that particular project and review other project ideas. Sometimes I'll be able to write for something else, before returning to the first project. When I revisit, I look at it with fresh eyes and can oftentimes continue from where I got stuck.
Luz C. Rios Become an observer of life around you and write! Carry a notebook with you so when inspiration hits, you can write it down and go back to it later. If you're serious about writing, put aside time for it in your schedule and stick to it.
Luz C. Rios I am currently working on getting illustrations for two children's books, as well as a sports series for tweens and an anthology for teachers.
Luz C. Rios Words are powerful things--they can encourage, build up, create unimaginable beauty, inspire amazing things….but they can also discourage, break down, spoil and destroy…As a writer, we have the ability to use this powerful tool to show the world a glimpse of what could be.
Luz C. Rios I am hyper-aware of my surroundings--the smells, the lighting, conversations around me, beauty found in natural, unspoiled things, as well as "accidental beauty" found in the ordinary. My shy nature makes me an observer of people and things that can go undetected. All these things inspire me to write.
Luz C. Rios "The Invitation" was inspired by my nephew who passed away in 2007 just shy of his 13th birthday due to Leukemia. Watching him battle the disease with such courage and faith at such an early age was inspiring. This book is the way I envisioned that journey. All proceeds for that book go to an academic scholarship started in his name.
