Just imagine male officials with beards and mustaches on hearing the high pitch female voice of a female courtesan dressed in a male silk imperial robe exclaimed on top of the dais, "Kneel, kowtow to your female Empress!" The male officials standing down below the dais instantly heeded to her order as to bend their knees and then proceeded to bow and kowtow in her direction and more important to the female Empress sitting directly high above on her throne.
Since childhood, I have always been intrigued by the two Empresses of the past, Empress Wu of the Tang Dynasty and Empress Dowager of the Qing Dynasty. The former an authentic Empress, the latter, almost not quite, but had the same power over their male counterparts all the same. I always have the question in my head, "How did the two Empresses managed to suppress their male counterparts and commanded them to kneel and kowtow to them?"

I have been working on two ideas for two books. One is The Palace's Love Triangle. It is a love story. The second one is another historical fiction of how the Empress grab the power and took the throne to become the Empress.
