I tend to take a few steps back in terms of writing. I think experiencing a new day makes for a better creative process.

My advice is to never give up and don't set yourself up to try to meet some grand made-up expectation that you'll satisfy everyone who reads your work. If you're passionate about your work, the right people will understand and value your message.

I get inspired to write in short intervals after long periods of reflection which I don't think is very advantageous to push a lot of content out. I typically have to experience some really revealing or interesting life lessons in order to commit to writing. Otherwise, spending time in nature and going on short walks gets my wheels to turn.

I was on the bus with my mother getting ready to get on a flight to go to Texas to see the Final Four Championship basketball games through the Buick Achiever scholarship that I had won. On the bus, I had the epiphany that I could help other teens with my story of how I won scholarships and my mother was very supportive.
