Mr. Wilks, I'm enjoying The Death of Danny Daggers and don't struggle much with the various dialects represented. One oft-used word is giving me a little bit of trouble, though; "butt". It appears to be the equivalent of "bud", short for "buddy", used commonly in the USA to signify friendship, usually between males. Is that how "butt" is used in Welsh conversation? If not, please enlighten me. Thanks!

Haydn Wilks Hi Denny, that's right, you've got it! I think they're pretty much pronunciation variants of the same word - you'll occasionally here people say "butty" in Wales, but the shorter "butt" is used much more commonly. Almost at the end of every sentence!
