Her eyelids fluttered open and she gasped, the damp earth beneath her cooling her blue-tinged skin. She was alive . . . again.

I love collecting old keys, particularly those I'm unsure of where they came from or what they went to. A book about tracing the keys' origins and how they were used would be fascinating to me. In fact, you'll see old keys and other similar objects pop up in many of my works because I'm so fond of them.

(view spoiler)[Though I'm not usually one for romance, I found the relationship between Katniss and Peeta (in The Hunger Games) to be refreshing. Theirs wasn't a relationship based on lust, dashing good looks, or charming dialogue between the pair. The were both strong characters, and they grew together after facing enormous traumatic events. The battles that they had to endure set a foundation first and foremost in friendship, and that is a relationship that truly lasts a lifetime. (hide spoiler)]

I read! There's nothing more inspiring to me than curling up with a good book. Of course, tea helps too. Lots and lots of hot tea.

Keep writing. Grow your passion. Read books that are well written and take note of what you like about them. Even when you feel like giving up or are disheartened by others' comments about your work, keep going. Good writing takes a lot of practice, determination, and even editing.

My two biggest projects are a nonfiction series on the craft of writing and a fantasy/paranormal trilogy about a young girl who is the last in the line of some very powerful witches.

I always loved watching scary shows as a kid, Are You Afraid of the Dark being my favorite. This story was inspired by that show and a rather common childhood (and adulthood) fear: porcelain dolls. They've always creeped me out.
