A writer must also be a reader. So write, write, write, and write some more, then pick up a book and read. The only way to get better is to always be developing your craft through practice and education--write what's in your heart, and learn from other authors through extensive reading.

Sometimes I just keep my eyes open and write about some of the things in life I find funny or interesting. And other times I draw off of whatever it is I feel I need to say, develop a story and characters to either demonstrate or personify my point or purpose, and then compile that into a product.

As of right now, I'm reviewing/editing my first novel--should be done soon. I also have a children's book completed, ready to go to publication. Christmastime is my desired release. After that, I have 5 manuscripts drafted, which I will begin working on. Completing those novels, however, will depend on the success of my first novel. If my earnings are sufficient for a living, I'll have all the time I need to complete my work.
