Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Leland Cheuk Even though PONG contains plenty of semi-absurdist elements, the family dynamics and conflicts in the book are mostly autobiographical (I wish they weren't!). I often feel a lot like Sully Pong, and I feel the values of my parents are fairly closely represented. As for the setting, I was inspired by a trip through El Paso.

What are you currently working on?
Leland Cheuk I'm working on two novels and a collection of stories. The longer one is a satire set in a multinational corporation over three decades. The shorter one is a fictionalized memoir of a famous Chinese-American standup comic.
