The paperback edition of Teaching the Cat to Sit comes out November 4, but in the meantime, I'm writing a novel title Winter's Wake. It's about a brother and sister separated in the foster care system after the sudden death of their parents.

Life. They say truth is stranger than fiction and some parts of my story I found so coincidental that I was sure no one would believe me if I wrote it all down. As I grew up gay and Catholic in the Texas Bible Belt, the story just about wrote itself. Lots of rich, funny, wry, and sad material to draw from.
