Figure out what you'd love to write about and then read similar books or works. If you want to write for kids, read tons of kids' books! Write about what matters to you. Do you like fiction or nonfiction? Do you prefer to write for a young or adult audience? Think about these things. Go toward what makes you happy. There is truth in the thought that if you do what you love, you'll love what you do.
